What do I need to download content?

All Vidéotron handsets are compatible to download directly to your phone. Some handsets can also download content using a USB cable compatible with the handset.

How do I download content?

There are three ways to download content to your phone: from your phone, from your computer then automatically to your phone, or from your computer to your phone using a USB cable.

Do I need a USB cable to download content?

In most cases, it is not necessary since you can download directly to your phone. However, the use of a USB cable eliminates data transmission fees and lets you save money!

How do I download content to my phone using a USB cable?

The procedure varies according to your phone's model. Usually, the download is quite simple. Consult your phone's User Guide for details.

What type of USB cable should I use?

If you download content to your computer, then your phone, you need a USB cable that is compatible with your phone.

Where can I buy a USB cable for my phone?

Sometimes, the USB cable is provided with your phone. You can also purchase it at Vidéotron stores, from our Handsets and accessories section or the manufacturer's Website.

How do I download directly to my phone?

Launch the browser on your phone. Choose a category and browse until you find what you want. Select the item and follow the instructions.

What do I do once the download is sent to my phone?

Instructions vary depending on your phone's model. When you receive a ringtone or graphic, you are usually asked to save, watch/listen, or erase the download. If you want to use the download as the default, you must change your settings. For ringtones, this may be from your phone's Profile menu; for graphics, it may be in the Pictures or My pictures menu. Consult your phone's User Guide for details.

How do I know that the content has been downloaded to my phone?

If you download directly to your phone, a message telling you that the download is complete will be sent to your phone. You can also watch, set or delete the ringtone, authentic ringtone or wallpaper.

What if I can't download the item?

Verify that your phone is switched on, that you are within the Vidéotron network and your phone is able to download.

Do I have to retrieve the download message as soon as I receive it?

No. If it is not opened, it will be stored. You can retrieve the download message from your phone's Messaging menu. Depending on your phone's model, select Inbox, then Web or Alerts. You will then be asked if you wish to view your download messages when you launch your Web browser.

Can I download ringtones, authentic ringtones, wallpapers or video clips I have created on my computer?

Yes.

Why haven't I received my ringtone or graphic yet?

There may be a number of reasons. Maybe:

  1. You are outside the Vidéotron network.
  2. The network is experiencing difficulties. Try again later.
  3. The content you have downloaded is not compatible with your phone.

If none of these answers apply to your situation, contact Customer Service by dialing *611 from your wireless phone.

Can I download a tune directly to my phone?

No. Due to the size of an audio file, these files can only be downloaded to your computer, then your phone using a USB cable. Plus, there are no data transmission fees!

Can I download my tune to more than one phone?

Yes, because the tune stays in your computer. You are free to download them to any wireless phone.

Can I send my tune license to my friend?

No. Licenses are reserved for your exclusive use and cannot be shared.

Can I transfer a tune from one handset to another using Bluetooth?

No. You must have the rights to a tune to listen to it on your phone.
