Press the CBL button on the remote control to turn on your EXPLORER® unit. 2000.
Turn on your TV and VCR.
Select the VIDEO/AUDIO input on your TV by pressing the INPUT SELECT, INPUT, AUX, AVX or TV/VIDEO button on your TV remote control.
Select the LINE input on your VCR by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button, or by selecting channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch works on your VCR (refer to your VCR instruction manual).
Use the EXPLORER® remote control to select the desired channel or service. You can watch your programs with stereo sound through your TV or sound system.
To record the program you are watching
Follow the steps above to select the channel of your choice.
Start recording by pressing the VCR REC button.
Adjust the TV volume to the desired level.
To record a program while watching an analog program
Select the LINE input on the VCR by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button or by selecting channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch works on your VCR (refer to your VCR instruction manual).
Use EXPLORER® to select the channel you wish to record.
Start recording by pressing the VCR REC button.
Select the TV mode on your TV (TV/VIDEO).
Press the BYPASS button on the remote control, making sure that the green BYPASS light on the front display of your EXPLORER® comes on.
Use your TV remote control to select the analog channel you wish to watch (the TV Stereo light will be on).
To watch a videocassette or a pre-recorded program
Turn on your TV and VCR.
Select the VIDEO/AUDIO input on your TV by pressing the INPUT SELECT, INPUT, AUX, AVX or TV/VIDEO button on your TV remote control.
Start playing the tape (press the PLAY button).
Adjust the TV or sound system volume, depending on your chosen setup.
To use the "picture-in-picture" (PIP) function
Turn on the TV and VCR.
Select the VIDEO/AUDIO input on the TV by pressing the TV/VIDEO button on the TV remote control.
Select the LINE input on the VCR by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button on the VCR, or select channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch works on your VCR (refer to your VCR instruction manual). The EXPLORER® picture appears on the screen.
Press the BYPASS button on the EXPLORER® remote control.
Press the PIP button on your TV remote control. A second picture is then displayed on your TV screen. Select the SOURCE (TV, Video 1, Video 2, etc.), depending on whether you wish to have a digital or analog image appear in the second screen
