Setup 9

Note: With this setup, if you want to watch a video or perform on-screen programming of your VCR, you must select the AUDIO/VIDEO inputs on your TV, because the VCR is connected to the TV via the RCA cables only.



    To record an analog program while watching a digital program

  • Select the channel to record from on the VCR.
  • Start the recording by pressing the REC button on the VCR.
  • Select TV mode on the VCR using the TV/VCR button on the VCR's remote control. A lighted indicator should go on or off.
  • Tune the TV to channel 3.
  • Select the channel you want to watch using the EXPLORER® 2000.


    To record a digital program

  • Select the channel to record from on the EXPLORER® 2000.
  • Select the LINE input on the VCR by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button on the VCR, or by selecting channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch on the VCR works.
  • Start the recording by pressing the REC button on the VCR.

NOTE: The program will be recorded in stereo, but you cannot watch another analog program at the same time.



    To watch a video or prerecorded program

  • Turn on your TV and VCR.
  • Select the VIDEO/AUDIO input on your TV by pressing the INPUT SELECT, INPUT, AUX, AVX or TV/VIDEO button on your TV's remote control.
  • Press PLAY to start playback of the video.
  • Adjust the volume on your TV or stereo receiver/amplifier to the desired level.
