Turn on the EXPLORER®by pressing the CBL button of the remote control.
Turn on the TV and tune to channel 3.
Turn on the VCR and select the VCR's LINE input by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button of the VCR, or by tuning to channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the VCR's LINE/TUNER switch works.
Tune to the channel or service you want to view with the EXPLORER®remote control.
To record the program you are viewing
Follow the instructions of Procedure A to view the channel or service of your choice.
If you have programmed the EXPLORER®remote control to control the TV volume, set the volume of the EXPLORER®at maximum.
Start recording by pressing the REC button of the VCR. If you have programmed the EXPLORER®remote control to control the VCR, press the red REC button of the remote control to start recording.
Adjust the volume on the TV or the sound system to your preference.
To record a program in digital while viewing another program in analog
If you do not subscribe to Telemax 1, Telemax 2, ULTRA or Digital Analog Service extended services, you will be limited to channels 2 through 6 in this mode.
Select the VCR's LINE input by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button of the VCR, or tune to channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the VCR's LINE/TUNER switch works. (Refer to the VCR instruction manual. With the EXPLORER® 2000, select the channel you want to record.
Start recording by pressing the REC of the VCR. If you have programmed the EXPLORER®remote control to control the VCR, press the red REC button of the remote control to start recording.
Select the TV position on the VCR (TV / VCR button). An indicator light should switch off or on.
Turn to the analog channel of your choice with the TV remote control.
To record a program during your absence
If you have programmed the EXPLORER®remote control to control the TV volume, set the volume of the EXPLORER®at maximum.
Press the VCR SETTINGS button twice. Move the cursor to the VCR TIMER option and follow the instructions on the screen. You can program the EXPLORER®to record various channels at various times. E.g.:
Channel 25 Tuesday 26-08 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Channel 35 Tuesday 26-08 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Use the VCR TIMER function of your VCR to start recording at the desired time. Refer to the following example to program the VCR TIMER function as follows: E.g.:
LINE Tuesday 26-08 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
LINE Tuesday 26-08 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
To view a video or a prerecorded program
Turn on the TV and the VCR.
Tune to channel 3 on the TV.
Start playing the video by pressing the PLAY button. Adjust the volume of the TV or the stereo receiver/amp, depending on the connection established.
