Setup 6: Mono TV and 2 monos VCRs



    To watch a digital program (in mono)

  • Press the CBL button on the remote control to turn on the EXPLORER® 2000.
  • Tune in the desired channel on the EXPLORER® 2000.
  • Turn on the VCR and select the LINE input by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button on the VCR, or by selecting channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch on the VCR works.
  • Select VCR mode on VCR #1 using the TV/VCR button on the VCR's remote control.
  • Turn on the TV and tune it to channel 3.
  • VCR #2 stays off.


    To record a digital program on VCR #1 while watching another, analog program

  • Tune in the desired channel on the EXPLORER® 2000.
  • Turn on the VCR and select the LINE input by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button on the VCR, or by selecting channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch on the VCR works.
  • Start the recording by pressing the REC button on the VCR.
  • Select TV mode on the VCR using the TV/VCR button on the VCR's remote control.
  • VCR #2 stays off.
  • Tune in the analog channel of your choice using the TV's remote control.


    To record a digital program on VCR #1 and an analog program on VCR #2 while watching another, analog program on the TV

  • Select the digital channel to record from on the EXPLORER® 2000.
  • Turn on the VCR and select the LINE input by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button on the VCR, or by selecting channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch on the VCR works.
  • Start the first recording by pressing the REC button on VCR #1.
  • Select TV mode on the VCR using the TV/VCR button on the VCR's remote control.
  • Using VCR #2's tuner, choose the analog channel you want to record from.
  • Start the second recording by pressing the REC button on VCR #2.
  • Select TV mode on VCR #2 using the TV/VCR button on the VCR's remote control.
  • Tune in the analog channel of your choice using the TV's remote control.


    To watch an analog program In mono

  • Select TV mode on the VCR using the TV/VCR button on the VCR's remote control (you can also simply turn off the VCR).
  • Tune in the analog channel of your choice using the TV's remote control.


    To dub a recording while watching an analog program

  • Turn on the two VCRs.
  • On VCR #2, select the LINE input by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button on the VCR, or by selecting channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch on the VCR works.
  • Simultaneously press PLAY on VCR #1 and REC on VCR #2.
  • Select TV mode on both VCRs using the TV/VCR buttons on their remote controls.


    To watch a video or prerecorded program

  • Turn on the TV and VCR #2.
  • Tune the TV to channel 3.
  • Start playback of the video (press the PLAY button on the VCR's remote control).


    To record a program while watching a video

    If you want to record from a digital channel

  • Select the digital channel to record from on the EXPLORER® 2000.
  • Turn on VCR #1 and select the LINE input by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button on the VCR, or by selecting channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch on the VCR works.
  • Start the recording by pressing the REC button on VCR #1.
  • Start playback of the video by pressing the PLAY button on VCR #2.

    • If you want to record from an analog channel

  • Using VCR #1's tuner, tune in the analog channel you want to record from.
  • Start the recording by pressing the REC button on VCR #1.
  • Tune the TV to channel 3.
  • Start playback of the video by pressing the PLAY button on VCR #2.
