To watch the channel of your choice, in digital or analog mode
DIGITAL:
- Turn on the TV and VCR #1.
- Select the VIDEO/AUDIO input on the TV by pressing the INPUT SELECT, INPUT, AUX, AVX or TV/VIDEO button on the TV's remote control.
- Select the LINE input on VCR #1 by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button on the VCR, or by selecting channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch on the VCR works.
- Press the CBL button on the remote control to turn on the EXPLORER® 2000.
- Use the EXPLORER® 2000's remote control to tune in the channel or service of your choice. You will hear the programming in stereo either through your TV or your sound system.
ANALOG:
- Turn on the TV.
- Select TV as source on the TV (TV/VIDEO button)
- Using the TV's remote control, choose the analog channel that you want to watch.
Note: The two VCRs should not be on during this operation. If one or both of them is, turn it/them off or set them to TV mode (TV/VCR button).

To record a digital program on VCR #1 while watching another, analog program on the TV
- Turn on the EXPLORER® 2000, the TV and VCR #1 (VCR #2 stays off)
- Use the EXPLORER® 2000's remote control to tune in the channel or service you want to record from.
- Select the LINE input on VCR #1 by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button on the VCR, or by selecting channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch on the VCR works.
- Make sure the EXPLORER® 2000's volume control is set at maximum (level 30).
- Start the recording by pressing the REC button on the VCR.
- Select TV mode on VCR #1 using the TV/VCR button on the VCR's remote control. A lighted indicator should go on or off.
- Select TV as source on the TV (TV/VIDEO button).
- Tune in the analog channel of your choice using the TV's remote control.
- Adjust the volume on your TV or stereo receiver/amplifier to the desired level.

To record a digital program on VCR #1 and an analog program on VCR #2 while watching another, analog program on the TV
- Use the EXPLORER® 2000's remote control to tune in the digital channel you want to record from.
- Select the LINE input on VCR #1 by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM button on the VCR, or by selecting channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch on the VCR works.
- Start the first recording by pressing the REC button on VCR #1 (make sure you have selected TV mode using the TV/VCR button on the VCR's remote control).
- Select TUNER as source on VCR #2 (LINE/TUNER function).
- Tune the TV to channel 3.
- Using VCR #2's tuner, choose the analog channel you want to record from.
- Start the second recording by pressing the REC button on VCR #2.
- Select TV mode on VCR #2 using the TV/VCR button on the VCR's remote control. A lighted indicator should go on or off.
- Tune in the analog channel you want to watch using the TV's remote control.

To record an analog program while watching another, digital program

- Select TV mode on VCR #1 using the TV/VCR button on the VCR's remote control. A lighted indicator should go on or off.
- Select TV as source on the TV (TV/VIDEO button)
- Using VCR #2's tuner, choose the analog channel you want to record from.
- Start the recording by pressing the REC button on VCR #2.
- Select the VIDEO/AUDIO input on the TV by pressing the INPUT SELECT, INPUT, AUX, AVX or TV/VIDEO button on the TV's remote control.
- Use the EXPLORER® 2000's remote control to tune in the digital channel or service of your choice. You will hear the programming in stereo either through your TV or your sound system.
