Connection to a mono TV and a mono VCR.

Your EXPLORER® model may be different from the one in the picture, but this does not change the method of connection and use.

Note:
If your EXPLORER® is connected to your stereo sound system, you can listen to programs that you tune to on your EXPLORER® in stereo.

To view the channel or service of your choice:

• Turn on the EXPLORER® by pressing the CBL button of the EXPLORER® remote control.
• Turn on the TV and tune to channel 3 with your television remote control
• With the EXPLORER® remote control, tune to the channel or service you want to view and press SELECT.

To record the program you are viewing:

• Make sure that the volume of the EXPLORER® is set at maximum (see *** at the end of the page).
• Turn on the VCR, with your VCR remote control, set it to channel 3 and press the REC button.
• Adjust the volume on the TV or the stereo receiver/amp depending on the connection established.

To record a program during your absence:

• Set the volume of your EXPLORER® to maximum (see ** at the end of the page) and press the SETTINGS button twice.
• Move the cursor to the TIMER : VCR option and follow the instructions on the screen. You can program the EXPLORER® to record various channels at various times.
  Ex. :
  Channel 25 Tuesday 26-08 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  Channel 35 Tuesday 26-08 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
• Use the VCR TIMER function of your VCR to start recording at the desired time. Refer to the following example to program the VCR TIMER function as follows:
  Ex. :
  Channel 3 Tuesday 26-08 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  Channel 3 Tuesday 26-08 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

To view a video or a pre-recorded program:

• Turn on the TV and the VCR and tune the television to channel 3 with the television remote control.
• Start playing the video by pressing the PLAY button. Adjust the volume of the TV or the stereo receiver/amp, depending on the connection established.
