TV always stays on Channel 2 or 3
If your TV remains continuously on 2 or 3, it is likely that the other channels are deprogrammed in the TV's memory. To reprogram them, check whether your remote control or TV set has a button marked PROG, AUTO-PROG, SCAN or AUTO-SCAN. Otherwise, refer to the owner's manual for your TV for more information.
What is the CATV function?
Most TVs have the CATV function (Cable Access TeleVision) , which changes the tuning mode on your TV set. A TV not connected to cable must be tuned in antenna or air mode. A TV connected to cable must be tuned in cable or CATV-STD mode.
Following a power outage or a procedural error, your TV may lose its initial programming and automatically reset to antenna, which is the default mode. In such cases, your TV will detect only Channels 2 to 13 (or 15). The other channels will be missing or all mixed up. This is not a cable problem but simply a minor adjustment that has to be changed on your TV.
