EPL vs EVPL: two Ethernet services, two levels of performance



 

  • EPL Service

    An EPL-type Ethernet link allows your business locations to interact as if their equipment were directly connected to each other, and in an almost transparent way (VLAN and L2CP frames).

    Our EPL solution provides you with an Ethernet port in each of your business locations, which allows the systematic sending of data (no dot1Q tag is required).

  • An EVPL-type Ethernet link allows you to extend your LAN network to all your places of business. This point-to-point (or point-to-multipoint) virtual connection boasts advanced features and the resilience of Videotron Business' MPLS IP backbone network.

    How does an EPVL link differ from an EPL link? With an EPVL link, only a range of VLANs (which you determine) is transported on the service.
