How to set up Wi-Fi access point

If you have specific network needs, you can create an additional Wi-Fi access point on your New Generation Router (Zyxel).

Enable Access Point Mode on the Next Generation Router (Zyxel)

  1. Access http://192.168.0.1.
  2. Enter the user name and password
  3. Click on Expert Mode.
  4. Select the Maintenance icon on the left side of the page.
  5. Go to the System Operator Mode section.
  6. Check Access Point Mode.
  7. Click on Apply.

Good to know

In Access Point mode, the IP address is 192.168.0.2. Router features such as NAT, bandwidth management, remote management or firewall are not available in this mode.

Disable Access Point mode on the Next Generation Router (Zyxel)

  1. Access http://192.168.0.2.
  2. Enter the user name and password.
  3. Click on Expert Mode.
  4. Select the Maintenance icon on the left side of the page.
  5. Go to the System Operator Mode section.
  6. Check Router Mode.
  7. Click Apply.
