How to enable or disable the Daily Traveller Pass

If you want to activate or deactivate the Daily Traveller Pass, all you have to do is contact the Customer Service.

Starting a 24-hour usage period

When you activate your Daily Traveller Pass, it automatically starts when you use your services (calls, text messages, or data) in a listed country. The daily rate will apply for 24 hours. The Pass will be enabled again for 24 hours each day you use your services, until you reach the limit.

You answer a call on Monday at 5:00 p.m. (France time). The Daily Traveller Pass is activated, allowing you to use your mobile services at a fixed rate until 4:59 p.m. (France time) the next day. On Tuesday, you send a text message at 5:00 p.m. The Pass is activated again, for a new 24-hour period.

Good to know

Calling 611 and 911 does not activate the Daily Traveller Pass, nor does it use up any mobile data or minutes included in your plan.

Follow your usage

You can follow your usage for the current 24-hour period by visiting the Business Customer Centre. You will find an alarm clock indicating how much time is left to the current 24-hour period.

Daily Traveller Pass billing and rates

Warning : If the Daily Traveller Pass is not activated, roaming services are immediately billed on a per-use basis, at the visited country’s effective rate.

Daily rate :

  • $13 for the US Daily Traveller Pass
  • $15 for the International Daily Traveller Pass

  • US Daily Traveller Pass: up to 10 days billed per billing cycle
  • International Daily Traveller Pass: up to 20 days billed per billing cycle

Beyond these thresholds, you can use your mobile services at no charge in the US and internationally until your next billing cycle.

This can happen if your trip spans two billing cycles.

For example, if your cycle starts on March 15, and you go to the US for 28 days (March 2-30) and use your mobile services daily, the Daily Traveller Pass will be billed as follows:

  • From March 2 to 12 (billing cycle prior to March 15), 10 days will be billed
  • On March 13 and 14, using the Daily Traveller Pass will incur no charges
  • From March 15 to 25 (billing cycle starting March 15), 10 days will be billed
  • From March 26 to 30, using the Daily Traveller Pass will incur no charges

FAQ

You will be charged a daily rate for each option, specifically $13 for the US Daily Traveller Pass, and $15 for the International Daily Traveller Pass, for a total of $28.

The $15 daily rate will be charged to you only once.

Example: You go from France to Germany, and then to Italy. Since the International Daily Traveller Pass covers all of these countries, you will only be billed $15 for the 24-hour period.

If you have an All-Inclusive Canada-US plan, the Daily Traveller Pass will not be activated for that destination, as your mobile service in that territory is included in your plan.

You will be billed overage charges on a per-use basis, at the effective rate for the country visited.

Note: Data overage is automatically limited to $100 per billing cycle (The traveller pass is included in the $100 limit). Upon reaching your data overage limit, data usage will be suspended until your next billing cycle. However, you can remove this limit at any time by contacting us.
