When you have at least one new message in your voicemail, there are two indicators:
- The icon displayed in the status bar (at the top of the screen) indicates that there are new messages in your voicemail.
- A notification in the form of a text message notifies you when you receive a new voice message.
The indicator is updated in the seconds following a call. It will continue to be visible as long as there is at least one message that has not been saved or deleted.
If the indicator continues to remain visible:
- Access your voicemail.
- Current keys: Press 4, then 1 to deactivate the indicator.
New keys: Press 4, then 9 to deactivate the indicator. - Hang up and wait for 30 seconds.
- Repeat steps 1 to 3 to reactivate the new message indicator.
- Mobile phone: Restart your device.
Contact Technical Support if the problem persists. Make sure you have the following information on hand:
- The model of the affected telephone
- The date and time when voicemail messages were last retrieved.
From the main menu, press 4-2-8 then 1 for English and 2 for French.
You can consult the new tree structure to learn more about your main voicemail menu options.
When you have at least one new message in your voicemail, it will be indicated in two ways:
- A series of quick beeps in the first seconds after picking up the receiver.
- A visual indicator (flashing indicator light and/or display). Certain phones are equipped with this type of visual indicator, which signals that new messages have arrived.
The most reliable indicator is the quick beeping sound. When you hear it, you have one or more messages. Listen to each and then either delete or archive it. The flashing indicator light will remain on for as long as there is at least one new message with “new” status, even if you have listened to it and skipped it (#).
If you have no new messages in your voicemail, but the quick beeping sound persists, contact one our of Business technical support agents.
If your phone’s flashing indicator light stays on, but you do not hear the quick beeping sound, do the following:
- Check if the flashing indicator light is lit on all phones. If it isn’t, the phone itself may be the source of the problem.
- The message indicator is updated a few seconds after hanging up. Check your messages again (even if you don’t have any new ones), and then hang up and wait 30 seconds before lifting the receiver once again.
If the problem persists, contact one of our technical support agents.
