As he approaches his 50^th birthday, Sergeant Guillaume Pelletier is taking stock of his life. He goes on vacation to the cottage of his old friend François Grondin, located in a small paradise for snowmobiling. While the two friends reconnect and celebrate around a campfire, a murder is being planned in the small country town. Pelletier quickly finds himself involved in the investigation, much to the dismay of the local detective sergeant, Évelyne Dumoulin.

While the victim appears to be unremarkable at first glance, the drama poses a serious headache for the police as the suspects pile up. But the shockwave comes when Pelletier discovers the murder weapon... The investigation then takes an unpredictable turn. Captain Duquette is called in for backup and helps Pelletier keep a cool head despite his emotions. At the end of this unexpected investigation, Pelletier will be transformed.
