What you need to pay with your phone or smartwatch
Here are a few key things you need in order to pay using your mobile phone or smartwatch:
- An eligible credit or debit card
- A smartphone or smartwatch that is compatible with NFC mobile payments (near field communication must be enabled in your device settings)
- A Videotron SIM card with NFC technology

Enter Support followed by your device model in the search bar at the top of the page to find its technical sheet and check if it’s compatible with NFC mobile payments.
You can add multiple cards to your phone, but only one will be used by default. Go to the payment app to select another card or change the default card.
Paying with your cellphone
To make payments directly from your cellphone, select the procedure according to your device model.
Use your iPhone to make secure, contactless payments with Apple Pay. Start by scanning your credit or debit card.
- Open the Wallet app.
- Select + and press Debit or Credit Card, then Continue.
- Scan your card using the camera, or manually enter the information using the keyboard.
- Confirm when prompted to verify your entry.
- To pay with your phone, hold the top of your iPhone close to the card reader.
- The payment is complete when Done and
appear on the screen.

Use your Samsung device to make secure, contactless payments with Samsung Pay. Start by scanning your credit or debit card.
- Open the Samsung Pay app. You can also use the Google Wallet app.
- If you’re using the app for the first time or after a data reset, follow the initial setup instructions.
- If necessary, follow the instructions to register your payment card.
- To make a payment from the card list in Samsung Pay, swipe left or right and select a card.
- Authenticate yourself with your iris or fingerprint, or enter your payment PIN.
- Place the back of your device on the card reader.
- Payment is complete when the reader recognizes the card information.

Use your Android device to make secure, contactless payments with the Wallet app. To pay for your purchases from your phone (or Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch, Pixel Watch, etc.), download the app from Google Play and add a credit or debit card by scanning it into the app.
- Open the Wallet app.
- Add a card by selecting Add to Wallet + at the bottom of the screen, then Payment card and New credit or debit card.
- Scan a card using the camera or manually enter the information using the keyboard. Press Save to confirm.
- To make a payment, turn your phone screen on and unlock it.
- Hold the back of your phone against the card reader. Payment is complete when theicon appears on the screen.

Paying with your smartwatch
With Apple Pay, you can save payment cards on your Apple Watch and make secure, contactless payments in numerous stores.
- Add a payment card to your Apple Watch:
- From your iPhone: Go to the Watch app. Tap My Watch > Wallet > Apple Pay, then follow the onscreen instructions.
- From your Apple Watch: Go to the Wallet app. Tap the icon with the three dots, select Add Card, and then follow the onscreen instructions.
- To pay for a purchase with your watch, press the side button twice then scroll down to select a card.
- Place your Apple Watch within a few centimetres of the contactless card reader, facing the reader.
- A slight vibration and beep confirm that the payment information was sent.

Yes. Since you don’t need to provide your PIN when you pay with your phone or watch, the risk of someone stealing your PIN is eliminated. To confirm a transaction made with your cellphone, you unlock it with your fingerprint, a digital code, or facial recognition.
In addition, when you pay with your phone, a unique, encrypted, and anonymous code is generated, which prevents hacking given that your personal information and card number are not sent as they would be with a regular payment.
