What happens if I use my mobile phone outside the areas covered by my plan?
Plans that include travel destinations include use of mobile services in the territories listed above only. Any use at sea or in an area that is not covered will incur roaming charges. See roaming rates.
Do plans with travel data include long-distance calls?
Canada and United States, Canada, United States, and Mexico, or Canada and France plans
Yes. Long-distance calls to numbers in territories covered by your plan are included. However, if you call a number outside the territories covered by your plan, long-distance charges apply. See long-distance rates by destination.
Other plans with travel data
Only long-distance calls made to Canada and local calls made from a country included in the plan are covered.
Pay-per-use fees are charged for the following calls:
- Long-distance calls (except to Canada) made from a country included in the plan. Roaming rates apply.
- Calls from Canada to any other country. Long-distance rates apply.
Can I use bonus data outside of Canada?
No. The annual bonus data included in your plan can only be used in Canada. Learn more about bonus data.
Can I add and use Data Add-ons outside of Canada?
Yes. You can add Data Add-ons corresponding to the territories included in your plan. Add a Data Add-on online via the Customer Centre.
Is there a usage limit on my plan abroad?
Yes. You can use your plan outside Canada for a maximum of 120 days (consecutive or not) per year. The year begins on the day you subscribe to a plan for travellers. The start date stays the same, even if you change plans.
When you reach the limit, usage is charged according to applicable long-distance or roaming rates.
I have a plan that only includes Canada. Can I add a Data Add-on that can be used in another country?
No. You can only add a Data Add-on corresponding to the territories included in your plan.
