Clearing a mobile app’s cache

What’s a cache?

A cache is a memory where temporary information is stored when visiting a website or application. It speeds up display loading on subsequent visits, thus improving the user experience.

However, the cache occasionally stores data that conflicts with new information generated by a site or app. The cache then needs to be cleared to resolve the issue.

Android

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to Apps.
  3. Select the app whose cache you want to clear.
  4. Go to the Storage tab.
  5. Tap Clear cache.

iOS (Apple)

To clear the cache of an app on an Apple mobile device, simply uninstall and reinstall the app.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to the General tap.
  3. Tap iPhone storage or iPad storage.
  4. Select the app whose cache you want to clear.
  5. Tap Offload App.
  6. Tap Reinstall App.
