How the Toober app works on Helix TV

The Toober app aggregates international channels, mainly in foreign languages, which gives you access to channels that are different from those in your TV package and allows you to broaden your horizons. Its interface is in English only.

How to access the Toober app

To launch the Toober app on your TV, use the voice control and say “Toober”.

You can also press the HELIX key on your remote control, scroll to choose Apps, and select Toober in the Entertainment section.

How to find a channel or content in the Toober app

Explore the Toober app TV listings to find the channel and content of your choice.

By default, the TV listings are presented in Traditional Guide format. This format is similar to the TV listings on Helix TV and allows you to apply the Favourites, Categories and Languages filters to access the desired channel more quickly. These filters are presented as tiles at the top of the screen.
 

Add Favourites

To add a channel to your Favourites, select the channel logo in the left column of the TV listings. A heart appears next to the logo and the channel is automatically added to your favourites.

When you apply the Favourites filter to the TV listings, only channels marked with a heart will be displayed.  

Filter by category

When you select the Categories tile, you will see a selection of genres such as Kids, Music, Travel, Drama, News, etc. Select the desired category or categories so that the TV listings will only display the corresponding channels.

Filter by language

When you select the Languages tile, a selection of languages is displayed. Select the desired language(s) to have the TV listings display only the channels with content in the selected languages.

Other TV listings presentations

Select the (Settings) icon  in the upper right corner of the screen to change the TV listings presentation mode. Channel Logo Guide shows the channel listened to in mortise with the tiles of the other channels at the bottom of the screen, while Full View Guide shows the channel listened to in full screen with the tiles of the other channels at the bottom of the screen.

How to view content in the Toober app

1. Move through the TV listings using the arrows on the navigation pad of your Voice remote.
2. Select the desired content by pressing the centre key once.
3. Press the centre key a second time to remove the guide and start viewing.
    

To exit the Toober app, press the return arrow on your remote control twice.

How to create a Toober user profile

Upon first use of Toober, a default profile is automatically created to allow you to enter the app. This profile cannot be deleted, but you can modify it by adding your personal information.

Create a new profile

1. On the home screen showing the existing profiles, select the one marked with the + symbol.
2. Enter a username.
3. Check one category.
4. Check the desired content classification.
5. Confirm.
    

Edit an existing profile

1. Select the icon  (Settings) in the upper right corner of the screen.
2. Select My account.
3. Edit the desired information.
4. Confirm.
    

Change user profile

To use the Toober app with another profile, you can select the profile name in the top right corner of the screen, then Change user to choose another profile.

You can also use the Settings to change your profile:

1. Select the icon  (Settings) in the upper right corner of the screen.
2. Select My account and then Change user to choose another profile.
