How do mobile long-distance calls work?

Québec, Canada, and United States: Long-distance charges in Québec, in Canada (outside Québec), and in the United States are $0.75/min.

International: Consult the international long-distance regular rates list and the list of rates with a plan.

Charges on incoming long-distance calls

Generally, only the usual airtime charges apply when you receive long-distance calls. However, if you’re outside your local calling area at the time you receive a long-distance call, variable fees apply depending on where you are when you receive the call.

How long-distance calls are billed

Some long-distance charges may apply, depending on where the calls are made or received:

• If you’re at home or elsewhere within your local calling area, your outgoing calls may be considered long-distance depending on the destination you are calling.
• If you’re travelling outside your local calling area, your incoming and outgoing calls may be considered long-distance depending on the destination you are calling.

Is it included in my plan?

All our Mobile plans include unlimited long-distance calls between Videotron Mobility and Home Phone subscribers.

Most of our Mobile plans also include unlimited long-distance calls within the coverage area (Québec and Canada, or Canada and the United States). Consult the Pay-per-use services section of your invoice and look for the Canada included minutes or Canada-U.S. included minutes line.

Forwarding an incoming call from another number to your mobile

Long-distance charges apply if you pick up the call outside your local calling area.

Forwarding an outgoing call from your mobile to another number

If you forward calls to a number outside your local calling area, long-distance charges will apply if someone answers the call or the caller leaves a voice message.

If you listen to your voice messages from your local calling area, no long-distance charges apply. However, if you listen to them outside your local calling area, long-distance charges will apply.
