Faster live sports channels on Helix TV

Faster live channels, also known as low-latency channels, reduce the delay between a live event and its broadcast through a Helix TV terminal.

With faster live viewing, you can enjoy a delay that is several seconds shorter when watching selected sports channels compared to standard Helix TV channels. That means you're closer to the action and less likely to hear the outcome before you see it onscreen.

A faster live channel is an optimized version of an existing sports channel. It reduces the delay between a live event and its display on your television, while maintaining the same picture quality.

Standard channels remain available and continue to operate as usual. Faster live versions are offered in addition to your current channel lineup, giving you the flexibility to choose the viewing experience that suits you best.

Faster live channels use separate channel positions in the TV guide.

This approach allows standard channels to remain available across all Helix TV platforms, while also offering a faster live version of those channels exclusively on Helix TV terminals. Helix TV terminals are the only devices compatible with faster live viewing.

Faster live channels are available exclusively on Helix TV terminals.

They are not available on:

• The Helix TV app;
• Helix TV online;
• other devices that support Helix TV.

When you tune in to an eligible sports channel in its standard version, you may see a message inviting you to switch to its faster live version. To access it, press the centre (OK) button on your remote when the message appears.

This notification:

• remains onscreen for approximately 10 seconds;
• can be dismissed immediately by pressing the EXIT button on your remote control.

Standard channels and faster live channels are considered separate channels.

As a result:

• an event recorded from a standard channel will be associated with that channel;
• an event recorded from a faster live channel will be associated with that version;
• scheduling a recording on one version does not schedule it on the other.

Recordings made on a faster live channel are stored in the Helix Cloud. They remain accessible on compatible platforms that support viewing recordings.

I can't find the faster live channel on my Helix TV terminal.

Make sure that:

• you are subscribed to the corresponding sports channel;
• you are tuned in to the correct faster live channel.

The faster live channel is not working properly.
