How to manage subtitles on Helix TV

You can easily access closed caption settings on all Helix platforms.

What is closed captioning?

Closed captioning, also known as captions for hearing-impaired viewers, is the on-screen transcription of a show’s dialogue, narration and sound effects. Shows and films with captions indicate “CC” or “STC.”

Enabling or disabling closed captioning on the Helix TV terminal

You can easily change how closed captioning is displayed by voice command, on the video control panel, or in the Accessibility Settings.

Say “Subtitles”

Use the “Subtitles” voice command to activate or deactivate this feature. See other handy voice commands.

On the video control panel

  1. Press down arrow or the middle button on the voice remote to display the video control panel.
  2. Select Closed Captioning or CC.

In the Accessibility Settings

  1. Press Remote_HELIX_Touche_B to open the Accessibility Settings.
  2. Select Closed Captioning, then press the middle button on the navigation pad to enable or disable subtitles.
  3. Press exit to enable your changes.

Good to know

If you enable closed captioning, you can change the display (size, colour and font) in the Closed Captioning Options.

In the Closed Captioning Style field, select Custom to set your own options or select Auto Detect to display the most readable closed captioning.

Enabling or disabling closed captioning on the Helix TV app

On mobile or tablet

  1. While watching content, tap the settings icon at the bottom right of the playback bar to access Playback controls.
  2. Enable or disable the Closed Captioning option.
  3. Select the display language, if applicable.
  4. Tap OK.

On the web

  1. While watching content, tap the icône sous titres appli helix icon at the bottom right of the playback bar to access Language Settings.
  2. Enable or disable the Subtitles option.
  3. Select the display language, if applicable.

Click on the settings icon at the bottom right of the playback bar to customize the closed captioning display.
