Videotron is focusing on Helix TV, a faster, more modern technology that is better adapted to current watching habits. The vast majority of our customers have adopted Helix TV and are reportedly very satisfied with this service.
Customers still using illico Digital TV can continue using their service; there are no interruptions planned in the short term. However, now is the perfect time to switch to Helix TV. Geti t now. We will be there to support you every step of the way.
The benefits of Helix TV versus illico Digital TV
- Voice commands to browse the interface and search for content (movies, series, actors, channels, etc.) instantaneously, record content, and manage certain settings vocally.

- All your content in one place: live TV, channels, lookback content, recordings, apps you are subscribed to, On-demand content.
- Lots of content available on demand, shortly after their broadcast.

- Switching from one channel to another, or one device to another, has never been easier.
- All Helix TV plans, with the exception of Basic TV, include illico+ content.

How to access the Guide:
- Keep the Mic
button pushed down and say “Guide.” - Press the Guide button on the Helix remote.

How to access recordings:

button pushed down and say “Recordings.” - Press the HELIX button, select Saved, then For you or Recordings.

The On Demand section gives access to a catalogue (movies, series, themes) and allows users to rent a title.
How to access On Demand content:
- Keep the Mic
button pushed down and say “On Demand,” “Movies,” “Series,” or specify a title or actor. - Press the HELIX, button, select On Demand, and browse the categories/tabs.
- Press the HELIX button, select
and type the desired title. - On the selected content’s info page, select Rent or Watch options. The cost of the rental, if applicable, will appear on a new page.
Note : You can watch a variety of shows after they’ve aired (replay and lookback). If available, a viewing option will appear on the title’s info page. Not all content is available in replay and look back; if this is the case, check On Demand.

How to access general channels:
- Keep the Mic
button pushed down and say the name of the desired channel (“CBC”, “CTV”, etc.). - Search for the channel in the Guide.

On illico Digital TV, Favourites—which were limited to channels—were accessible via a dedicated button. On Helix, you can add channels, series, movies, actors, and producers to your Favourites.
How to access Favourites:
- Keep the Mic
button pushed down and say “Favourites.” - Press twice on Guide, then select the Favourites filter.
- Press the HELIX button, go to Saved, then select My list.
How to add an item to your Favourites:
- Open the info page for a channel, show, movie, or actor, then select (+) to automatically add it to your list.

In the case of Helix, pay-per-view content remains available. Ordering is done directly from the Guide, on the title in question, as was the case with illico Digital TV.
How to access pay-per-view content:
- Open the Guide, select the pay-per-view content on channels 750 (FR) or 753 (EN), then select Order or Preorder.

Note: To find ordered content, keep the Mic
button pushed down and say “Purchases,” or press the HELIX button on your remote and select Saved, then For you.
You can continue watching as long as the access window is active.
Helix TV equipment
Helix TV works using a Helix Internet connection, powered by a Helix Fi gateway (all-in-one Wi-Fi router). The Helix TV terminal then connects wirelessly to your Helix network, facilitating installation in any room.
- The Helix remote includes voice command.
- The previous illico Digital TV devices (decoders and remotes), as well as any old modem or router, if any, are no longer needed.
- A technician can support you if you opt for assisted installation (fees may apply).
Exception — Home phone: if your service includes Home Phone, keep your previous modem.
How to prepare for the transition from illico Digital TV to Helix TV
Planning to switch from illico Digital TV to Helix TV? Here are a few important pointers.
- Look for the best gateway location to ensure optimal Wi-Fi reach.
- Make sure to clear the access to the coaxial outlet where the Helix Fi gateway will be plugged.
- If you already have your Videotron equipment, make sure you have unpacked and prepared everything that needs to be plugged, as well as wires and cables.
- Anticipate that initial connections can take a few minutes.
- Download the Helix Fi app to manage your network and connected devices.
