Is it normal to see ads on illico+?
Since 2 avril 2026, some Helix TV customers have been seeing ads when they watch content on illico+. Your experience may vary depending on the type of plan you subscribe to. The cases illustrated below will help you determine what applies to your situation, and what options are available to you.
Are you a Helix TV subscriber (illico+ included)?
- Since April 2, the illico+ channel you subscribe to has been airing ads.
- To change your plan, go to Manage my illico+ plan.
Were you subscribed to an illico+ paid premium plan (Ad-Free) before April 2?
- You keep your current plan (Ad-Free).
Were you subscribed to the illico+ free premium channel (With Ads) before April 2?
- You keep the With Ads plan.
- To change your plan, go to Manage my illico+ plan.
Do you have an old Mobile plan that includes illico+?
- Your plan’s formula remains Ad-Free.
How do I remove ads?
To remove ads, you must upgrade to the illico+ Ad-Free plan (with monthly fee). To find out the steps to follow, go to Manage my illico+ plan.

The terms and conditions of illico+ and the options for managing your plan differ depending on your subscription type. Select the scenario that applies to your situation to learn where and how to change your plan.

Only the Ad-Free plan is available (monthly fees may apply).
Managing my illico+ plan
Depending on your subscription type, you can add, modify, or remove your illico+ plan directly via My Account, or from the illicoplus.ca website if you don't subscribe to other Videotron services. If you experience any difficulties, contact Customer Service.
The options offered (With Ads/Ad-Free) and monthly fees may vary depending on subscription type. The terms and conditions posted in your online space (My Account, Customer Centre, or illicoplus.ca) are those that apply.
Helix and/or Mobility customers
- Go to My Account.
- Select the billing account you want to use, if applicable.
- Scroll down to the Streaming plan tile.
- Click Subscribe.
- Choose the With Ads or Ad-Free option. (The With Ads option is selected by default.)
- Select the service address to link to the streaming plan.
- Review the order summary and accept the terms.
- Click Finalize order.
- You will receive a confirmation email with a link to create/access your illico+ account and complete the registration.
illico TV customers
illico+ plans linked to illico TV cannot be changed in self-serve mode.
To add your illico+ plan, contact Customer Service or visit a Videotron store.
An advisor will be able to make the change for you.
Not a Videotron customer?
Head over to illicoplus.ca/abonnement to choose the type of plan that's best for you.
Helix and/or Mobility customers
- Go to My Account.
- Scroll down to the Streaming plan tile.
- Click Manage subscription, then Change my plan.
- Select the desired plan.
- Click Continue, then review the summary.
- Click Finalize order.
illico TV customers
illico+ plans linked to illico TV cannot be changed in self-serve mode.
To change your illico+ plan, contact Customer Service or visit a Videotron store.
An advisor will be able to make the change for you.
Not a Videotron customer?
Head over to illicoplus.ca/abonnement, go to your account, then select Manage my subscription to choose the type of plan that's best for you.
Helix and/or Mobility customers
- Go to My Account.
- Scroll down to the Streaming plan tile.
- Click Manage subscription, then Cancel my plan.
- Confirm the cancellation, then review the summary.
- Click Confirm.
illico TV customers
illico+ plans linked to illico TV cannot be changed in self-serve mode.
To cancel your illico+ plan, contact Customer Service or visit a Videotron store.
An advisor will be able to make the change for you.
Not a Videotron customer?
Head over to illicoplus.ca/abonnement, log in, click on the icon in the upper right corner, and select My Account. Choose your cancellation option here.

Frequently asked questions about the new illico+ plans
Videotron must notify customers 30 days before the service changes
Affected customers are notified by email or by mail.
It takes effect immediately following the notification.
Depending on your subscription type, you can change your illico+ plan via My Account or on the illicoplus.ca website.

Helix TV customers can access this feature from the Helix TV app, regardless of the type of plan they are subscribed to. Otherwise, the Download and go feature is only available with the new Ad-Free plan in the illico+ app.
