How to access TV content on a mobile device
Important: When you’re connected to a mobile network, watching content with the Helix TV app uses your mobile data. To avoid going over your Mobile plan’s data limit, track your usage and switch to a Wi-Fi network if you can.
- Download the Helix TV app:
- Open the app, then log in using your My Account (Helix TV and Helix TV App) or Customer Centre (illico TV) credentials.

How to access your TV content with Amazon Fire and Apple TV
The Helix TV app can be accessed from other streaming devices, such as Amazon Fire devices (Fire TV Stick, Fire TV, or Amazon Fire tablet) and the Apple TV box.
With Amazon Fire — Initial connection
- On your Amazon Fire device, launch the Helix TV app.
- Using another device (mobile phone or computer), access the pairing page.
- Enter the code displayed on the screen of your Amazon Fire device.
- Log in using your My Account or Customer Centre credentials.

With Apple TV — Initial connection
- On your TV connected to the Apple TV box, launch the Helix TV app.
- Slect Log in.
- Using your mobile device, scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
- You can also access the pairing page and enter the code displayed on your TV screen.
- Log in using your My Account or Customer Centre credentials.

The Helix TV app is accessible on Apple TV only if the box is connected to the network of your Helix gateway. Otherwise, an error message will invite you to use the app on a mobile device, tablet, or computer.
How to access your TV content with a smart TV
The Helix TV app is available directly from the app stores of LG and Samsung smart TVs manufactured as of 2018.
Initial connection
When connected to your home Wi-Fi network, you have access to the following on the Helix TV app:
- On your smart TV, launch the Helix TV app.
- Select Sign in, then scan the QR code displayed onscreen using your mobile or go to https://code-helix.videotron.com, on your PC or your mobile device.
- Enter the six-digit code that appears onscreen to pair your Helix TV app to your device.
- Log in using your My Account or Customer Centre credentials.

All content included in your subscription should be available when you’re at home. If any content is missing, verify that:
- You’re connected to your home Wi-Fi network.
- You’re subscribed to the channel you want to watch.
- Only Helix GO content is available.
- The content you want to watch must be on a channel that's included in your plan.
- Some live content may not be available outside Québec.
- The content you want to watch must be on a channel that's included in your plan.
- Recordings are not available in the app.

Other streaming platforms
Content from third-party streaming platforms (Netflix, Prime Video, ICI TOU.TV, etc.) is not available on the Helix TV app. To watch such content, use the mobile or Web applications specific to those platforms.
I can’t get the Helix TV app to work. What can I do?
To use the Helix TV app, you must:
- Be subscribed to a Helix TV, Helix TV App, or illico TV plan.
- Log in with the correct credentials:
- Helix TV or Helix TV App plans: My Account credentials
- illico TV plans: Customer Centre credentials
- Use a device or browser that meets the minimum requirements.
- Devices: iPhone 5s or later, iPad 5th generation or later, iPad Mini 2 or later, iPad Air, iPad Pro, iPod Touch 6th generation or later.
- Operating System: iOS/iPadOS 13 or later
- Devices: Android devices or Amazon Fire tablets
- Operating System: Android 7.0 or later
- Hardware: Intel Pentium 4 (3 GHz), AMD Athlon 3400 or faster processor; 128 MB RAM; 64 MB video card

If you’re subscribed to an illico TV plan, you cannot schedule or watch recordings with the Helix TV app. You also cannot resume watching content ordered on an illico terminal.
Yes. You can use the Helix TV app on up to five devices simultaneously.
Yes, if you subscribe to Helix TV or the Helix TV App service with the Recording option, you can record up to 8 shows at the same time, and the number of hours of storage depends on your plan.
No. The viewing of online or downloaded content with the Helix TV app is limited to the Canada territory.
We work with each content provider to offer as many viewing options as possible. The rights to our websites and television content delivery applications vary by network and may include all or part of the programming for our customers when they are away from home.
Yes. You can download up to 15 units of content (depending on device capacity) on five different devices.
When you’re connected to your Wi-Fi network at home
Helix Internet accesses are unlimited, so data consumed by the Helix TV app has no impact on your billing.
When you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network other than yours or to a mobile network
Data is used up by the Helix TV app, as well as if you use a website or another app to view entertainment content such as Netflix or YouTube. Your usage may therefore result in data charges.
With the Helix TV App and Helix TV: Club illico and Vrai content is available in the Browse section of the Helix TV app.

If you are an illico TV subscriber, you cannot use these features with the Helix TV app.
If you are a Helix TV App service subscriber, you must add the Recording feature as an option to your plan.

Only free On Demand content and paid content previously rented on your Helix TV terminal (whose rental period has not ended) are available on the Helix TV app.
You can’t rent a movie or order any pay per view content (like boxing matches or other sports events) with the Helix TV app. You can only order pay per view content on a Helix TV terminal with a Helix TV plan.
