What is Visual Voicemail for Android?
Visual Voicemail allows you to manage your voice messages by displaying them in the form of a list on your Android device screen. You can listen to your messages in any order, without dialing your voicemail or hearing instructions or previous messages first.
Access to Visual Voicemail does not negate traditional Voicemail access. You can still access the latter by tapping the 1 key on your phone.
Good to know
Android Visual Voicemail is a paid add-on. To use it, you must add it to your Mobile plan. Add Visual Voicemail.
How to enable Visual Voicemail on my Android device
- Contact our Customer Service to add the option to your services.
- Go to Google Play and download the Videotron | Visual Voicemail app.
- Launch the app once installation is complete, then press the Activate button on the main screen.
- Follow onscreen instructions to complete the activation process.

How to manage messages with Visual Voicemail for Android
The Visual Voicemail for Android makes it easy to manage your messages. Launch the app and just follow the steps depending on what you want to do.
View my voicemails
- Select the Messages tab at the bottom of the screen.
- The Message List displays information such as the caller’s name and number and the date the voicemail was recorded. New messages are highlighted to differentiate them from messages that have already been listened to.
Listen to my voicemails
- Select the Messages tab at the bottom of the screen.
- In the Message List, choose the voicemail you want to listen to, then tap the
button at the bottom of the screen. - Additional functions applicable to the selected message are accessible from the play message module:
- Enable speaker
- Call back the phone number from which the message was sent
- Delete or share the message
Delete a message
- Select the Messages tab at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the
icon in the bottom right corner of a message to delete it.
How to customize my greeting with Visual Voicemail for Android
You can record a custom greeting directly via the app.
- Tap the
icon at the bottom of the screen to access the Greetings section in the app. - Choose between the Default greeting and Custom greeting options.
- To record the custom greeting, press and hold the central button .
- Release the button to finish the recording.
- The recorded greeting can be played and recorded again, if necessary, by pressing the
button. - Once recording is to your liking, confirm the greeting by pressing the
button.
How to fix issues with the Visual Voicemail app for Android
Displaying new messages
Depending on your mobile phone brand, new messages may not be displayed when Wi-Fi is enabled. Here’s how to get around this issue:
- Samsung (Android 13 and above):
Go to Settings > Connections > Data Usage > Allowed networks for apps. Select the Videotron Visual Voicemail app > Mobile data only.
- Samsung (Android 12):
Go to Settings > Connections > Data Usage > Mobile data only apps. Find the Videotron Visual Voicemail app and turn on the switch beside.
- Samsung (Android 11 and below), Motorola and TCL:
Turn off Wi-Fi when you want to display new messages, then turn it back on when you are done.
To change your Voicemail PIN, launch the app and follow these steps:
- Tap the
icon at the bottom of the screen to access Settings section. - Select Update next to the Voicemail PIN option.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update your PIN.
Note: You need to know your current PIN to update it from the Videotron | Visual Voicemail app.
To adjust the notification settings, launch the app and follow these steps:
- Tap the icon at the bottom of the screen to access Settings section.
- Touch the toggle button to turn notifications of new messages on or off depending on your preference.
It is also possible to activate or deactivate Vibration mode as well as modify the Notification Tone.
New messages still not displaying?
Text “ACTIVATE” to 44744. This forces a data refresh on the server. Next, restart your mobile device and check again to see if your new messages appear in Visual Voicemail.
